Leave The Pieces, The Wreckers

You're not sure that you love me
But you're not sure enough to let me go.
Baby it aint fair, you know
You just keep me hangin round.
You say you dont wanna hurt me,
Don't wanna see my tears...
So why are you still standin here
Just watchin me drown?

And it's alright, yeah, i'll be fine
Don't worry about this heart of mine
Just...take your love and hit the road.
There's nothin you can do or say
You're gonna break my heart anyway
So just...leave the pieces when you go.

Now you can drag out the heartache,
Baby you can make it quick...
Really get it over with and just let me move on.
Don't concern yourself with this mess you left for me,
I can clean it up you see
Just as long as you're gone.

And it's all right, yeah, i'll be fine
Dont worry about this heart of mine
Just...take your love and hit the road.
There's nothin you can do or say,
You're gonna break my heart anyway
So just...leave the pieces when you go.

You're not making up your mind,
It's klllin me.
You're wastin time,
I need so much more than that...

yeah, yeah
yeah, yeah,
yeaaahh

...And it's alright, yeah, i'll be fine
Don't worry about this heart of mine
Just...take your love and hit the road.
There's nothin you can do or say,
You're gonna break my heart anyway
So just...leave the pieces when you go.

Leave the pieces when you go...

And it burns, burns, burns...the ring of fire

oh wow, my first REAL update in..umm a long time! let's rewind to...FRIDAY :)

i had to babysit av and chunk all day...big deal, that's not the exciting part. after i got done, however, Foof and i made our way to the hospital in Fort Dodge to see my cousin Jessi. dont worry, nothing was wrong...SHE HAD HER BABY!!! Ayden Marie Milliken was born on Thursday, June 15, at 7:25 pm. She was 5lbs, 12 oz, 17.5 in long....and she is the sweetest cutest little girl on the face of this earth!!!!

After visiting Jessi and meeting Ayden (and holding her FOREVER!), Courtney met me in the parking lot at the hospital and we drove to permanent collections so i could get my second tattoo :) it's right below my left ankle and says Foof in really pretty letters :) I LOVE IT!

When my second tattoo was complete, court and i headed over to her house and partied the night away till the wee hours of the morning..good times! she had to be at work by 12, so that's when i decided to head back home, the drive was a rather blah 2 hours, but i heard some good song-age on the way, so it's all good.

i got home around 2ish and (of course) had to piss like a race horse, so i just left my suitcase in my car...(proving wise later!), then i wasted the day away on crocheting rick's blanket, and then went on a walk around 8:30, 9er-ish. then i got in the shower....after the shower around 10:30, i checked my phone (my obsessive-compulsive habbit) and noticed i had a new text...it was from rick, he wanted smalls and me to come over and hang out for a while...so i decided i'd go get the shorts out of the suitcase in my car...since my 'rents were asleep and i didnt wanna wake theme, so i decided the back door would be my best choice...boy was i right.

i walked down the 2 steps at our back door and was about 3 feet in front of my garage when i was over-come by a wave of heat...i looked at the garage thinking...it's almost 11:30, why is it so damn hot back here?! i then looked up and noticed smoke from the side of the garage. my first thought was that the neighbors were burning leaves. i took a few steps to my right and then i saw the smoke was comming from my garage!!

i ran in the house and up the stairs, right to my parents' bedroom and threw the door open. "Daddy! there's black smoke comming from the garage and it's REALLY hot back there!!" he yelled "WHAT!?" and shot up out of bed, running past me and down the steps. i quickly followed and watched him go out our back door and press his hand against the walk-in door of our garage. he ran back in the house screaming "DAMNIT!!!!!!", grabbed the phone and dialed 9-1-1 and said "hey, this is troy schoon, my garage is on fire! send the boys over NOW!"

as he was saying this, he opened the garage door with the automatic opener that we keep in the house...and the flames shot straight up in the air. now, i was getting my brother and sister out of the house and into the front yard, safely away from the garage...my mom was doing the same. my dad...you know, the fire figher...was grabbing the keys to his 1979 volkswagan bettle and telling me that he was going to drive it out of the garge...IT WAS ON FIRE!!!!!

my mom and i both had to litterally pull him away from the garage, convincing him that it was too late and way to dangerous for him to go in there. smalls and foof were across the street crying....the fire department STILL hadnt shown up yet...i was getting madder and madder by the second.

i had time enough to call them back TWICE before i even heard the damn fire truck making it's way around the square...i'm sure it was only a few minutes, but it felt like a 1/2 hour!

i was sitting across the street on the curb, watching my garage burn to the ground. my dad's favorite posession had blown up. my daddy...was on his knees in our back yard, heaving with anger and frustration and tears as he watched the flames consume his bug, our garage...and at least 50 feet above our heads...the tops of the trees are singed. the flames had started to lick the back of my house by the time the fire depot. showed up...they parked infront of our house and must have had a rookie running the damn hose cuz they couldnt figure out how to un-roll it.

i was too busy comforting my little brother and sister to have time to react myself...but once i knew they were ok...i started to freak out...what if rick hadnt called me? what if i hadnt wanted my shorts? what if we had gone to eagle grove that morning like we planned? what if i had just gone to bed? chase would've been in the shower. morgan would've been on the computer with her headphones on. my parents and i would've all been sleeping. my house...would probably be gone.

all of those thoughts were running through my head, just as my dad's fellow fire-men were running all over my yard and house. almost the whole block was awake by now, all making there way over to us, to be sure that we were all ok. Hawkins' had a few people over in the hot tub, they all came over. rick saw the flames from his house and called matt...they both came down. brandon saw the fire truck from his house and ran all the way to us. kalli drove over and hugged me for what felt like an hour. toby tho...he was there before everyone. he was also the last to leave. every single person there said we were more than welcome to stay at their house for the night. and still...we were bawling. there was nothing we could do, we just stood there and watched the flames light up the sky.

after we had a chance to calm down...after the guys got the flames under control...after it started pouring down rain..i suddenly remembered....all of my stuff that i had taken to college...was in that garage. right next to the VW. everything but my summer clothes, my Teddy, and 2 pillows. everything else, gone.

cds, movies, books, my tv, dvd player, MY QUEEN SIZE BED!!, end tables, a bar stool, room decorations, pictures of my friends, an awsomely warm and comfy blanket that i got for gradamatation, a blanket that my great-grandma had crocheted me one month before she died, stuffed animals that i've had since i was 5....all gone.

not to mention everything of my dad's that was in there..golf clubs, camping gear, tools...you know, guy stuff.

it's all gone.

but it's ok. because Daddy, Mom, Chase and Morgan....are all fine.

that's all that matters.

oh yeah, i'm ok too :)
